Seminar Services

Millennium Consulting provides public and private seminars for both insurance companies and insurance regulators. Our seminars are taught by statutory accounting professionals with years of experience in insurance regulation including tenures at insurance companies, insurance trade associations, insurance departments, and the NAIC. In addition, we have extensive practical experience in preparing and filing statutory reports including the annual and quarterly statement and Risk-Based Capital.

Our seminars are taught with both the theoretical knowledge of how to teach statutory accounting and reporting and the practical knowledge because we also prepare and file, each quarter, and each year, over 40 Health, Life, and Property & Casualty quarterly and annual statements. Consequently we know from a practical point of view all the issues and nuances you face in dealing with statutory accounting and reporting.

We offer both public seminars covering statutory accounting and reporting issues as well as private on-site seminars for clients with large training needs. Our seminars are provided to both insurance companies and to state insurance departments.

Millennium Consulting also provides private on-site seminars at your location for insurance companies, state insurance departments, and other insurance related entities in need of specialized statutory accounting, reporting, or regulatory training.

Individuals new to insurance accounting may want to consider Millennium’s Complete Health Educational Program Packages (Complete Program). The Complete Program provides the necessary courses to become knowledgeable on Statutory Accounting, Statutory Reporting, the preparation and filing of the Health and Quarterly Statements, and the preparation and filing of the Health Risk-Based Capital Formula. The Complete Program includes the following three courses:

  • Course 1: Introduction to Health Statutory Accounting and Reporting. This 3-day course provides a complete orientation in statutory accounting and reporting. Attendees are acquainted with the regulation of health insurance and acquire a thorough knowledge of statutory accounting and reporting. This course is necessary for individuals who prepare, review, or audit the Annual Statement or RBC Formula. This course is offered in August.
  • Course 2: Health Annual Statement Preparation. This 4-day in-depth course is our most popular seminar and is essential for those who must prepare and file the Health Annual and Quarterly Statements and the Health RBC Formula. This course instructs individuals on the preparation of the entire Health Annual and Quarterly Statements and provides a basic orientation on preparing the Health RBC Formula. This course is offered in December.
  • Course 3: Risk-Based Capital Preparation Seminar. This 1-day course provides the working knowledge to prepare and file the Health Risk-Based Capital Formula. Essential to knowing how to file the RBC formula is the knowledge of the Health Annual Statement and its contents. This course is offered in December immediately following the Health Annual Statement Preparation Seminar.

Millennium Consulting also offers a package discount on the following back to back courses:

  • Course 4: Claims Accounting and Reporting Workshop - This 2-day workshop provides participants with an understanding and working knowledge of Statutory Accounting and Reporting Principles for Claims and Claim Adjustment Expenses and the preparation of all claim and claim related pages contained in the Health Statement.
  • Course 5: ACA Accounting and Reporting & Supplemental Health Care Exhibit Preparation Workshop - This 1-day workshop provides participants with an understanding and working knowledge of three key state and federal accounting and reporting processes, including Section 9010 Insurer Fee; the Risk Adjustment, Transitional Reinsurance, and Risk Corridors Programs and the preparation and filing of the Supplemental Health Care Exhibit.

Seminar Publications

Millennium Consulting Services offers each of the Seminar Manuals for sale to individuals who are not able to attend the live seminar. Individuals who purchase the Seminar Manuals may call MCS for clarifications and questions they may have on the materials. The manuals are an excellent resource and are designed to be thorough, practical and easy to use. Individuals can count on the Seminar Manuals to gain valuable insight and understanding on the topic.

Continuing Education

Millennium Consulting Services, LLC is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.nasbaregistry.org.


Cancellation & Refund Policy

We understand that circumstances may arise that require you to cancel. You may send a replacement or apply your tuition to another MCS seminar within the following 12-months if you notify MCS fifteen (15) business days prior to the seminar date.

As an alternative, you may request a refund, less a $200 administrative fee, up to ten (10) business days prior to the seminar date. If notification of cancellation is received less than ten (10) business days prior to the seminar date, you will be liable for the entire tuition amount. In fairness to all attendees, if you do not attend a seminar for which you are confirmed and do not contact MCS to cancel in advance, you will be liable for the entire tuition amount.

Hotel & Travel

Attendees are responsible for making transportation and hotel arrangements. Expenses for travel, hotel, and meals are not included in the tuition, except for continental breakfast each morning and evening reception on first day.

A block of rooms will be held at special rates for MCS seminar attendees up to 30 days prior to each seminar. Make your reservations directly with the hotel and reference the Millennium Consulting Services seminar that you are attending. Refer to seminar description for specific hotel location.
